New Society leader for the Columbans

On June 6, 2024, the members of the Columban General Assembly in Lima, Peru, elected Fr Andrei Paz as the new Society Leader. Born in the Philippines, Fr Andrei's journey as a Columban missionary is marked by significant international experience and dedication to various missions.

Fr Andrei's two-year First Mission Assignment as a seminarian took place in Wuhan, China, from 2006 to 2008. After his ordination in 2009, he was appointed to Taiwan for three years, where he worked in the Columban staffed parish with the indigenous people. His commitment to education led him to Creighton University in Omaha in 2015, where he pursued studies in Occupational Therapy. In 2019, Fr Andrei returned to China to work with a church-founded organization in Beijing, providing services to children with disabilities and training occupational therapists from underprivileged areas of China. Additionally, he served in the Columban parish in Malate for the last four years.

As Fr Andrei takes on his new role as the Columban Society Leader, we acknowledge the challenges ahead in a rapidly changing world and offer our prayers and support for his leadership and mission.
