Originally from Kyneton, Victoria, and the second eldest in a family of six children, Fr Anthony (Tony) was ordained at St Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne, by Archbishop Justin Simonds on July 25, 1964.
He was then appointed to the Philippines and the Archdiocese of Ozamis. There, after language studies, he was appointed to assist in the parish of Dimataling and at St Ambrose High School, Zamboanga Del Sur. Appointments to several parishes followed.
In 1979, Fr Tony was appointed to promote and raise funds for St Columban's Mission Society in several Australian dioceses. In 1985, he returned to the Philippines and the Ozamis Archdiocese until 1993 when ill health brought about another appointment to Australia and ministry in several dioceses and parishes and pastoral care in his home area of Kyneton, Victoria.
He was a resident at Bupa Aged Care, Kyneton and sadly passed away on June 10, 2024, 15 days before his 60th anniversary of ordination.
