'Laudato Si'
Columbans have been doing presentations on 'Laudato Si' in several places:
Fr Charles Rue spoke at Elizabeth Bay parish as part of a parish in-service on the document.
Anne Lanyon spoke on 'A Spirituality for the Whole World' to members and friends of the Archdiocese of Canberra, Goulburn Commission for Women. Along with Maria Tiimon and Tess Corkish, she was part of a panel called 'Tread Lightly on the Earth' at the ACU Conference in Melbourne entitled 'Pope Francis and Other Prophetic Voices, Calling Us to Reshape the Public Sphere'. She also spoke at Catalyst for Renewal on 'The Voice of the Unheard, Caring for our Common Home'.
It is exciting to see that the message of Pope Francis’ Encyclical is being promulgated in a variety of places.
Faith Ecology Network (FEN)
A group of FEN members walked to Gooches Crater in the Wollangambe wilderness for the annual Enrichment Day. It was a day of spiritual reflection and connection to nature, guided by scientist and author, Dr. Haydn Washington. The area is a geological wonder with its platey pagoda formations. Two years after severe bushfire, the waratahs and other bush flowers were absolutely magnificent. We spent time in meditation in a cathedral-like cave.

Advent Resource
Columban Fr Charles Rue has prepared an Advent Resource which brings an environmental and community focus to the Sunday Readings for Year C, called “Pathways: Hope for the Journey”. It will be available free online from November 5th at: www.columban.org.au. Donations are welcome and appreciated.
