Episode 168 - The feeding of the five thousand, the Kingdom of God and the Eucharist

The feeding of the five thousand, the Kingdom of God and the Eucharist

It's easy to read the feeding of the five thousand as just a miracle of abundance - but look closer at the verbs: Jesus took the bread, raised his eyes to heaven, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to be shared. That exact sequence appears in all four Gospels, and it's the same sequence spoken at every Mass. This reflection traces both threads - the Kingdom of God breaking into a hurting crowd, and the quiet Eucharistic thread woven through the whole story.
