The editorial article - "From the Editor" by Rev Dr Patrick McInerney, published in Columban Bridges, a magazine of the Columban Centre for Christian Muslim Relations, has won Runner-up in the category of Best Content: Ecumenical & Interfaith at the Australasian Catholic Press Association (ACPA)'s 2026 Awards of Excellence.
The recognition highlights the Columbans' ongoing commitment to promoting interfaith understanding, dialogue and reflection through their publication, Bridges. The ACPA judges praised the award-winning editorial for its powerful and thought-provoking commentary on a contemporary humanitarian issue. In announcing the award, the judges described the brief article as a compelling piece of writing that made a significant impact. They wrote:
"In the limited space allowed, this author packs a punch in his unabashed thoughts on an unfolding, man-made catastrophe. This is writing not so much to be consumed as to be contended with. Congratulations to Fr McInerney and the Columbans."
