Bullet Holes In The Presbytery is a book about the missionary life of  Columban Fr Warren Kinne, written by David Boyle.

He comes from the small town of Bundaberg in Queensland, grows up in the surroundings of a warm and safe family, and after training at a Catholic seminary in Australia, is pitched into the ferment of a dangerous time in the Philippines, which is placed under Martial law by President Marcos in 1972. He is only 24 years old. He is sent there to work as the local priest in one of the parishes, to care for the sacramental and pastoral needs of the local people, but all the foreigners have fled, as rival bandit factions are shooting it out.

“There were bullet holes in the Presbytery” when they arrived back one evening in the village, and ongoing gunshots in the hills. “It was a lawless time.” He worked in the Philippines for the better part of a decade in three different towns, nourishing conversations with both Muslim and Catholic communities, making friends with the farmers and the fishermen, helping them regain some livelihood after they are hurt even further by the Tsunami of 1975.
This is part of the story of Father Warren Kinne. He also studied in Rome, was Rector of a seminary, coordinated a global lay mission group, completed a PhD, and spent nearly 20 years in China, as part of his total life mission.

This is a life story about a very good man who gave his talents and time to serving others.
