Our Invitation

If the description of our Columban vocation or the stories of our Columban lives have resonated with you, if they have resounded with how you desire to spend your life, if they have awakened a holy "restlessness" in you, then we invite you to consider whether God is calling you to life as a Columban Missionary Priest.
The world is crying out for the light and promise of the Gospel. At World Youth Day 2006, Pope Benedict declared "There is an urgent need for the emergence of a new generation of apostles anchored firmly in the word of Christ, capable of responding to the challenges of our times and prepared to spread the Gospel far and wide."
We are not seeking ready-made saints. We seek single young Catholic men who:
- desire and feel called to give their life to Christian mission
- are in their twenties or early thirties
- enjoy good physical and mental health
- have completed at least secondary education
- are committed to a life of Christian discipleship and prayer
- are willing and able to give themselves to ongoing learning and formation
If you fit the above description, we invite you to join us in responding to the challenge of mission.
We call those looking for community and willing to bring their gifts, their vulnerabilities, their hopes, aspirations, energy and spirituality to a life of priestly and missionary service. We call those who have a real love for evangelisation, who seek to reach out to the nations with the Gospel, and to work with others in giving witness to and serving God's Kingdom in the Columban spirit.
Columban Missionary Priests take up this challenge and invite you to become a part of this universal commission. It is a call of depth and vitality, an enriching and prayerful vocation of love, community and radical discipleship to which we invite you in this moment of great challenge and promise.

PROMOTERS
In addition to seeking single young Catholic men who feel called to the Columban vocation of Missionary Priesthood, we are also seeking people to promote the Columban Missionary Vocation. We can't be everywhere, so we need you to help us call forth a new generation of Columban missionaries.
We encourage teachers, parents, priests, uncles, aunts, and other mentors to promote the missionary life and to direct young men who are asking questions about their vocation in life, or feel called to go out into the world with the Gospel, to get in touch with us. Thank you.
