PROCLAIM 2014 is a conference on the New Evangelisation organised on behalf of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference by the National Office for Evangelisation. It runs from 21-23 August at the Concourse, Chatswood (business district in northern Sydney)
Fr Dan Harding, Columban Vocations Director in Australia, along with Columban Fr Noel Connolly from the Columban Mission Institute and lecturer in Missiology at Broken Bay Institute and the Catholic Institute of Sydney, and Asheligh Green from the Columban Centre for Christian-Muslim Relations are in attendance this year. 
An Invitation to Priesthood
As young Catholic men seek to discern the call of Christ in their lives at PROCLAIM 2014, Fr Dan Harding, Columban Vocations Director in Australia, invites them to consider a Vocation to Priesthood as a Columban Missionary working amongst the marginalized and poor in 11 countries around the world - Chile, Peru, Mexico, Fiji, The Philippines, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Myanmar and Pakistan.
Vocation to Priesthood as a Columban Missionary involves creating awareness of the daily life, ministry and charism of Columban Missionary Priests, seeking to live as disciples of Christ, in these 11 countries.
Awareness of Mission
Fr Dan hopes that all young men and women at PROCLAIM 2014 will grow an awareness of and gain a commitment to Mission in their own lives and in the life of the Australian Church; with Mission being seen as an integral part of our call to be disciples of Christ.
PROCLAIM 2014 is about helping Catholics respond to the call to the new evangelisation and to help build our parishes and faith communities with a missionary outlook.
PROCLAIM 2014 will draw upon Pope Francis’ encyclical Evangelii Gaudium with its theme being 'Living the Joy of the Gospel in Parishes’ and uses the practical suggestions in 'Rebuilt' to help those involved in parishes across Australia to Awaken to the Challenges facing the Church, Live their Missionary Call and Transform the Parish.
